Client was involved in two homicide with five other individuals. Before being arrested, client contacted Mr. Gourjian. Negotiations and arrangements were made with State Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office before turning himself in. Client was only charged as an Accessory. Defendant $100K bond was reduced to $5K. Client pled before arraignment and reduced client’s sentence to 2½ years.

Attorney Sebouh Gourjian graduated from California State University - Northridge in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a minor in Geography.  Until his enrollment to law school, Mr. Gourjian worked in retail and transportation management.  In 2000, Mr. Gourjian graduated from Florida State University Law School with a Book Award in First Amendment and  moved back to California to attend to his family.  Mr. Gourjian moved back to Florida in March 2003 and soon thereafter was employed as a prosecutor by the Lee County State Attorney’s Office until April 2005.  While at the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Gourjian handled hundreds of cases and conducted numerous jury trials.  Mr. Gourjian was rigorously involved in Fish and Wildlife Commission’s net-cases.  But more importantly, Mr. Gourjian learned the inner working of the courthouse and prosecutor’s office, which gave him insight on how to properly handle cases.


After leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Gourjian began his career as a criminal defense attorney.  From the experience and knowledge he learned as a prosecutor, Mr. Gourjian was able to successfully establish his law firm in Naples, Florida.  As a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Gourjian has tried a wide array of cases, ranging from DUI to homicide.  He has tried over fifty cases, including a successfully defending with a not a guilty verdict against the State-Wide Prosecutor’s Office.  While in Naples, Mr. Gourjian took-on the Collier County Board of Commissioners (CCBC) for their enactment of the red light camera ordinance as unconstitutional and unjust. Mr. Gourjian successfully appealed his own ticket and did not have to pay.  He helped numerous people free of charge to defend their cases who were cited for red light infractions.  He garnered a coalition of like-minded individuals by rallying: “Just because they (CCBC) pass a law it doesn’t mean that the law is right” and put pressure on CCBC to repeal the ordinance.  Eventually, the ordinance was repealed.


Mr. Gourjian considers all possible avenues of strategies in defending his clients.  His knowledge about the law and his trial experience are assets that he utilizes for every client.  By being a former prosecutor gives Mr. Gourjian an insight on how his opponents think gives him an edge on State’s strategies.  Mr. Gourjian does not believe in having his clients speak to a secretary or an associate for information and “going-on” about their case and likes to communicate with his clients directly.  Mr. Gourjian is always available to his clients via his cell phone and understands the importance of clients assess to him.


Mr. Gourjian has also been involved in civil litigation and landlord-tenancy cases.  He was an in-house counsel for a large corporation with an emphasis in construction lien law.  Mr. Gourjian’s hobbies include soccer, World War II history and woodworking.
